Après ski!

Chamonix is known as a fun ski resort for après, with a number of lively bars and restaurants often providing live music and DJ’s to enhance the pleasure of a few drinks and socialising after skiing. “Dancing on tables” is not common any more but there is still a wonderful atmosphere throughout the Chamonix estate!

Here are the liveliest bars in the valley…

Chambre Neuf

Located next to the train station, Chambre Neuf is one of the most popular après-ski bars in Chamonix. The atmosphere here is always lively, with a live band playing every day during the ski season. The bar offers a wide variety of drinks, including a selection of local and international beers.

Elevation 1904

With its central location, Elevation 1904 is a great place to grab a drink after a day on the slopes. They serve a variety of local and craft beers, as well as wine and cocktails. They also serve food, making it a perfect spot for an early dinner.

Monkey Bar

Situated in Chamonix Sud, Monkey Bar is known for its lively atmosphere and eclectic mix of patrons, from local ski bums to visiting tourists. With regular live music, DJ sets, and even karaoke nights, there’s always something happening at Monkey Bar.

MBC (Micro Brasserie de Chamonix)

The MBC is a Canadian-run brewery and a favorite among locals and visitors alike. They offer a great selection of home-brewed beers, tasty food, and regular live music. It’s slightly outside of the town center, but well worth the trip.

La Folie Douce

Famed sister club, bar, hotel and restaurant to the Folie Douce colleciton around the alps situated at the foot of the Savoy slopes and primed almost every day for incredible music, dancing and cocktails.

Le Privilege

For those who prefer dancing to relaxing, Le Privilege is a club that heats up as the evening progresses. It’s centrally located and is known for its upbeat music and lively dance floor in the heart of Chamonix village.

La Yaute Café, Argentière

If you’re skiing in the Grands Montets area, La Yaute Café is the perfect après-ski venue. It’s a laid-back bar with live music, themed parties, and a great selection of drinks.

Les Vieilles Luges, Les Houches

A charming old farm turned into a restaurant, Les Vieilles Luges is a unique après-ski spot. It’s located on the mountain and accessible via a blue run – perfect for a late lunch or early dinner before a moonlit ski or walk down.

Remember, the après-ski culture in Chamonix is as diverse as its ski terrain. There’s something for everyone – from lively bars with live music to quieter spots perfect for a relaxed drink after a day on the slopes. As always, it’s best to check the opening hours and current events directly with the establishments, as they can vary depending on the season and current conditions.
